FEVE (Ferrocarriles Españoles de Vía Estrecha, or Spanish Narrow Gauge Railway) owns the longest narrow gauge line in Europe, stretching over 1,200 kilometres. The company's railways are located in northern Spain and the two main routes link Bilbao with Santander and Bilbao with León.

Bilbao-Balmaseda Short Distance Trains
FEVE's short distance trains serve Bilbao's stations Concordia, Ametzola, Basurto and Zorroza, linking them with Sodupe, Gueñes, Zalla and Balmaseda, located in Encartaciones.

Bilbao-Santander Line
It departs from Concordia station, at central Bilbao (C/ Bailén, 2), and reaches Santander. From Santander, passengers can go to Torrelavega, Cabezón de la Sal and San Vicente de la Barquera, in Cantabria; Llanes, Ribadesella, Oviedo, Avilés, Gijón and Luarca, in Asturias, as well as several other short distance destinations in the Principality; or Ribadeo, Ortigueira and Ferrol, in Galicia.

Bilbao-León Line
It connects Bilbao with León. It offers one daily trip departing from Concordia, in Bilbao (C/Bailén, 2), at 14:30 and arriving in León at 21:45.

The Transcantábrico
This train cruise takes a route departing from León and ending at Santiago de Compostela, stopping at Bilbao, among other localities. It also follows the reverse route. The trip takes 8 days, during which the train stops at the most typical cities in northern Spain. The Transcantábrico stops at León, Saldaña, Carrión de los Condes, Frómista, Sotoscueva, Bilbao, Santander, Santillana del Mar, Llanes, Ribadesella, Picos de Europa, Covadonga, Cangas de Onís, Gijón, Oviedo, Cudillero, Luarca, Ribadeo, Vivero, Ferrol and Santiago de Compostela.
The trip includes 7-night accommodation in the train's suites, 7 dinners and 8 meals serving typical dishes from northern Spain, 7 free-buffet breakfasts, guided tours, excursions, and an accompanying bus throughout the route.
