Ensanche Market

Ensanche Market is located in the heart of the village, in the square it has been named after, between Colón de Larreategui and Henao streets. It was built in the 19th century, concomitant with Bilbao's expansion, and it has become the most important market in downtown Bilbao.

Bilbao's City Council has had the market's building redesigned this year to house several government offices: Bilbao Iniciativas Turísticas (Bilbao Tourist Initiative), Bilbao Convention Bureau, Bilbao 700 cultural foundation, Bilbao Gazte Sarea (an information centre for the youth) and Bilbao's local newspaper. Besides, the 1,053 m2 central hall, which can be used for different kinds of events, will turn the building into a convenient meeting place.

MAIN FEATURES
The market houses 10 stalls selling fruit and vegetables, meat and fish.
