Data protection clause

BILBAO TURISMO, S.A. informs users of its www.bilbao.net/bilbaoturismo website about its personal data protection policy, so that users may freely and willingly decide whether they wish to provide BILBAO TURISMO, S.A. with the personal data that may be requested from them or that might be obtained on the occasion of subscribing to or enrolling for any of the services provided by BILBAO TURISMO, S.A.


Consequently, users are hereby informed and give their consent for the personal data gathered to be processed and included in the corresponding BILBAO TURISMO, S.A. files, for which BILBAO TURISMO, S.A., as the holder, is responsible. For this purpose, BILBAO TURISMO, S.A. provides users with the appropriate technical resources so that they may access this Data Protection Clause or any other relevant information. Except in those fields where otherwise indicated, the replies to the questions on personal data are voluntary, and a lack of reply will not mean a decrease in the quality or quantity of the corresponding services.


In the same way, users are informed that the data provided will be included in files which are the responsibility of BILBAO TURISMO, S.A. for the following purposes: to maintain the contractual relationship, if applicable, established with BILBAO TURISMO, S.A., to manage, administer, provide, extend and improve the services which the user decides to subscribe to, enrol for or use; to adapt these services to user preferences and tastes, to study the use of these services by users, to design new services in connection with these services, and they authorise the sending of updates for these services, and the sending, by traditional and electronic means, for the purposes of article 21 of the Information Society and Electronic Commerce Service Act of 11 July 2002 (LSSI-CE 34/2002), regarding technical, operational and commercial information about the products and services offered by BILBAO TURISMO, S.A. The purpose of the automated gathering and processing of personal data also includes the sending of survey forms, which the user is not obliged to reply to.


BILBAO TURISMO, S.A. has implemented the legally required personal data protection security levels and has installed all the technical measures and means available in order to prevent the loss, improper use, alteration, unauthorised access or theft of the personal data which has been provided to BILBAO TURISMO, S.A. Notwithstanding this, the user should be aware that security measures on the Internet are not impregnable.


Users are reminded that they are entitled and may exercise their right to access, amend, oppose or cancel their personal data. The user may exercise this right by writing to Plaza del Ensanche 11, 48009 Bilbao. In the same way, the user may revoke the consent given to receive business correspondence, in accordance with the stipulations of Act 34/2002.
