Permanent Collection:
The Museum is located in the premises of a former convent, founded by Dominican nuns. Today, the building, inaugurated in the early 16 th century, is owned by Bilbao's City Council. In 1992-1993, it was completely remodelled by the Provincial Government of Vizcaya to suit a museum's purposes.
The collections exhibited are:
- Silver works with religious motifs including items made in Bilbao silversmiths' workshops as well as in other workshops in the province and also the American continent. .
- Sacred clothing: ornaments from the 16 th century onwards.
- Sculptures, paintings, alabaster figures, pottery and leather items from the Romanesque up to the 21 st century.
