History:
Built in Gothic style in 1379.
It is 51 metres long and 26.6 metres wide.
It has carvings by Guiot de Beaugrant, Aboitiz, Arizmendi and Pérez Comendador.
The St. James Cathedral is a church dedicated to St. James, the apostle who has been Bilbao's official patron since 1643. It was built in Gothic style in the late 14 th century. It has three naves, triforium and ambulatory. Its Gothic cloister is small but very beautiful. It became a cathedral in 1949. Its Neo-Gothic tower and main façade were built by Severino de Achúcarro and finished in 1887.
