Memorial Walkway I Europa Park I Bidarte Park

Memorial Walkway:

Memorial WalkwayThis new park (whose construction started in 2002, as part of the urban remodelling of the Abandoibarra area) is a modern walkway on the bank of the estuary. It passes by the Euskalduna Palace, the Guggenheim Museum and the Alameda de Abandoibarra (Abandoibarra tree-lined avenue), whose construction is under way. The works of this garden-museum by the architect Javier López Chollet will link the whole city, from La Naja, to Ripa, Uribitarte and even Olabeaga. The section already open to the public features huge vertical lamps 12 metres high; a children's corner with avant-garde swings and an interactive fountain; a terraced café; Zubiarte, the new commercial area; and numerous sculptures, among which El vigía ("The Watchman") by Chillida and Bailarina ("Lady Dancer") by Dalí stand out.

Vegetation: palms and lime trees.

Length : p3-km linear walkway.

Sculptures : works by Chillida, Dalí, Tücker, Lüpertz, Zugasti and Garraza, among others.
